A “vivacious, loving, spunky, kind-hearted, and independent precious princess.” That’s how Rocky Barron’s family is remembering the 3-year-old Dahlonega girl.

The youngest child of Cadie and Jay Dee Ryals Barron, Rocky died in a single-vehicle wreck in Lumpkin County last week. Her funeral will be held this afternoon, Wednesday, July 19, at Whitfield Funeral Home in Demorest.

Barron’s death shocked and saddened the Northeast Georgia community. Her parents are both teachers at Lumpkin County High School, and Barron’s grandfather, Larry Ryals of Clarkesville, is the associate lay pastor at Antioch Baptist Church in Mt. Airy. She also has family in Stephens County where her paternal grandparents, Dewan Earl Barron and Deborah Ann Barron live.

In her obituary, the family tells of how Rocky Rae loved to play outside with her older siblings, parents, and five pets.

“Being the princess she was, Rocky was always dressing up, dancing, and singing to her baby dolls,” the tribute reads.

In addition to her parents, Rocky is survived by her brother, Eoin Barron, and sister, Charlie-Belle Barron.

The family will receive friends at Whitfield Funeral Home in Demorest from 1 to 3 p.m. prior to the funeral at 3:30 p.m. The funeral home is located at 245 Central Avenue in Demorest.

A Go Fund Me account set up to help the family with funeral and medical expenses has surpassed $27,000. If you would like to donate, click here.
