A Friday afternoon accident on GA-365 near Wilbanks Road resulted in two hospital transports to Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Georgia State Patrol says the accident happened when a Honda Odyssey driven by Nichole Culpepper, age 34 of Gainesville, failed to yield and entered the intersection of Wilbanks Road and GA-365. GSP says when she entered the intersection, she crashed into the side of an oncoming vehicle.
The vehicle that was hit, a 2018 Subaru Forester driven by Catherine Calderone-Harper of Clarkesville, spun and overturned. Calderone-Harper’s vehicle rolled onto its left side facing east when it stopped moving, while Culpepper’s stopped in the center median.
Calderone-Harper, age 58, and passenger Sandra Calderone, age 80, were both extracted from the vehicle by the City of Baldwin Fire Department and Habersham County Emergency Services. Both were taken by ambulance to the Northeast Georgia Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Culpepper and her toddler sustained no injuries. GSP issued a warning for failure to yield.
