Dylan Bryce Shook, age 21, of Baldwin, Georgia, went to his heavenly home on Wednesday, October 29, 2023. Dylan’s untimely departure has left a void in the hearts of his family and friends, but his memory will forever be cherished.
Dylan was born on February 27, 2002, in Hall County, Georgia, to Jason Shook of Baldwin and Amanda Robinson Shook of Clarkesville. He was a young man with a bright future ahead of him. He was currently enrolled at North Georgia Technical College, where he was pursuing his dreams and aspirations. Alongside his academic pursuits, Dylan had a passion for the outdoors. He found solace in the thrill of hunting and fishing, connecting with nature in its purest form.
His love for adventure extended to his hobbies, which included riding his dirt bike and dedicating his time to working on and driving his beloved truck. Dylan was not only a man of leisure but also a man of ambition. He was the proud owner and operator of Shook’s Auto Detailing and was also employed with Shook’s Landscape and Maintenance.
Dylan’s love for his family was unparalleled, and his bond with his girlfriend, Jentry, and her daughter, Hadley, was a testament to his caring and nurturing spirit. He embraced Hadley as his own daughter, and their relationship was filled with love and joy.
Dylan’s character was marked by his kindness, generosity, and willingness to help others. He never met a stranger, and his warm heart touched the lives of countless individuals. Even in his passing, Dylan’s legacy lives on through his selfless act of organ donation, a final act of kindness that will positively impact the lives of numerous people and their families.
Dylan will be remembered for his zest for life, his love for family, and his unwavering spirit of giving. His memory will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing him. Though he is no longer with us in body, his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were touched by his presence.
Dylan was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mickey and Janet Robinson; uncle, Daryl Shook; and paternal great-grandparents, Luke and Thelma Brock.
In addition to his parents, Dylan is survived by his girlfriend, Jentry Mitchell and their daughter, Hadley, of Clarkesville; paternal grandparents, Jerry and Sarah Shook, of Alto; grandmother, Mary Robinson, of Alto; aunt, Susan Wilkes, of Clayton; aunt and uncle, Lori and Jeff Segers, of Clarkesville; and cousins, Zach Shook and his wife, Kandy, Austin Shook, Cale Shook and his wife, Kaylie, Clay Wilkes, Philip Wilkes and his wife, Chelsea, Makaela Roberts and her husband, Joey, Justin Shook, McKinnley Roberts, Lily Roberts, Lawson Wilkes, Hunter Wilkes, Caleb Segers and his wife, Kelly; Day Segers; Gentry Segers, Ridge Segers, Madison Shook, Benjamin Shook. and many other relatives and numerous friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, with Rev. Rick Darby and Mr. Anthony Benfield officiating. Interment will follow in the Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at the funeral home.
