A Cornelia woman was rushed to the hospital Saturday morning after she was seriously injured in a car wreck in Hollywood.

A preliminary report from the Georgia State Patrol says Marie A. Patterson, 78, failed to yield while turning left at the light at the intersection of GA 15/US 441 and Talmadge Drive. Troopers say Patterson’s RAV4 pulled into the path of a southbound Toyota Tacoma pickup truck.

The pickup truck driver, Henry Lewallen Harper, 18, of Atlanta, told the investigating trooper he couldn’t stop in time once the RAV4 entered his pathway. The pickup struck the SUV on the right front passenger side.
