District 2 Public Health is keeping it simple to get your flu shot this fall. Drive-thru flu clinics continue across North Georgia, giving you the option to roll down your window, get vaccinated, and be on your way.
Since 2007, District 2 has offered these convenient clinics to make vaccination more accessible—especially for people with mobility or functional needs. Drive-thru services are offered in addition to regular walk-in appointments at all county health departments during normal business hours.
Stephens, Franklin, and Banks counties still have multiple clinics scheduled (see below). Clinics have already been held in Forsyth, Habersham, Hart, Lumpkin, Towns, Union, and White counties.

Cost
Most insurance plans cover the flu vaccine at no cost. Those paying out of pocket will be charged $30 for the regular flu shot or $66 for the high-dose vaccine, recommended for adults 65 and older.
Who should get the flu shot
The flu shot is recommended for everyone ages 6 months and older, except for those with a history of severe allergic reaction to the vaccine or any of its ingredients.
Health officials stress that vaccination helps protect you, your family, and your community. Last year, nearly 2,900 people in District 2 visited emergency rooms with the flu. The CDC reminds people: “Getting a yearly flu vaccination is the best way to prevent flu and its potentially serious complications.”
