Deadly shooting in Royston; suspect at large

ROYSTON, Ga — A woman is dead and another is being sought for murder following a Saturday afternoon shooting in Hart County.

At approximately 4:49 p.m. on May 31, deputies with the Hart County Sheriff’s Office and Hart County EMS responded to a report of a shooting at 45 Barton Road in Royston. When they arrived, they found 34-year-old Breiana Danielle Johnson of Royston suffering from a gunshot wound. She was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have identified the suspect as 26-year-old Greata Nichole Thomas, also known as Greata Nichole Mobley. She is described as a white female, standing 5’1” tall and weighing approximately 97 pounds. Investigators say she may be driving a 2008 gray Honda Accord with Alabama tag 13ABB80.

Thomas is wanted for murder in connection with Johnson’s death. Law enforcement urges anyone who sees the vehicle or has information about Thomas’s whereabouts to contact the Hart County Sheriff’s Office at 706-376-3114 or call 911. Authorities warn not to approach her, as she is considered dangerous.

The Hart County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating the homicide and has secured the scene near Omer Bond Road. Officials are asking the public to avoid the area to allow investigators to work safely.
