For Dawson County, Rabun County, and Jefferson, Wednesday night saw them advance to the Elite 8 with historic wins. Dawson and Jefferson upset #1-seeds on the road, while Rabun cruised to a 26th straight win. Banks County and Tallulah Falls saw their seasons come to an end.
BANKS COUNTY LADY LEOPARDS
The Lady Leopards (23-7) ended their 2018-19 run in a tough 55-45 loss at #1-seed Douglas. Jaycie Bowen scored 12 in her final game at Banks County, while Jenna Reeves had 10.
DAWSON COUNTY LADY TIGERS
Dawson County (22-8) defeated #1-seed Lovett 62-55 to reach the Elite 8 in Class 3A. The road warriors have won two straight on the road to get to the Quarterfinals. Kaylee Sticker led with 25 points, while Marlie Townley had 12 and Maddie Anglin 7 points. The Lady Tigers face the winner of Beach/Central, Macon.
JEFFERSON LADY DRAGONS
The Lady Dragons (25-3) went on the road and upset #1-seed GAC, 84-68 to advance to the Elite 8 against Johnson, Savannah. Deshona Gaither led with 24 points, Natalia Bolden had 21, and Livi Blackstock dropped 15 in the win.
RABUN COUNTY LADY WILDCATS
Make it 26 wins in a row for the 28-1 Lady Wildcats, who beat #2-seed Chattooga 82-40. Both tournament games have been blowout wins, and Rabun returns to the State Quarterfinals and will face #2-seed Early County at home. Georgia Stockton led with 24 points in the win, while Destiny Deetz had 8 points and 17 rebounds.
TALLULAH FALLS LADY INDIANS
The Lady Indians (18-11) fell in the Sweet 16 at #5-seed Calvary Day, 68-45 to end their season.
TOWNS COUNTY LADY INDIANS
