A single-vehicle crash in Rabun County late Saturday killed a Clarkesville man and injured his passenger. The Georgia State Patrol identifies the deceased driver as 63-year-old Andy Kastner.
At approximately 10:30 p.m. on October 30, GSP Post 7 in Toccoa was asked to investigate the traffic crash. The investigation revealed Kastner was driving south on GA 197 in a Chevrolet GMT truck when he ran off the road and overturned down an embankment. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
45-year-old Anthony Sizemore of Hiawassee who was a passenger in the truck was injured. EMS transported him to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the State Patrol.
This is the second fatal accident worked by Post 7 troopers in two days. A wreck on GA 365 in Habersham County on October 29 killed a 29-year-old Alto woman and her 5-year-old nephew.
