A Chai Latte and Watermelon

Philippians 4:19, “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.”

This morning I stopped on the way to work to get a Chai Latte and watermelon. Strange combination, huh? It’s a habit. The day just doesn’t seem right unless it happens.

As I was walking back to my car, I saw a friend I haven’t seen in years. It felt as if we just had lunch yesterday but in our conversation we realized it has been several years. Connecting with her lifted my spirits and I knew, even in this, God was providing for me.

My steps today are lighter and I thought of this scripture. He knows exactly what we need – when we need it.

The best part of this verse is however the first three words…”And my God…”

Not – God – but my God. Paul is writing at a time when he is in prison and awaiting trial. God is so personal to him that he speaks of him possessively.

And so do I.

If you do not have a relationship with Jesus Christ, know that He will meet you wherever you are in life. You don’t have to wait to change to have Him, He loves you just the way you are.

Maybe you know God, but don’t spend much time with Him. The greatest part of a relationship with God is the communication that can flow. He’s waiting to hear from you today.

If you are a Jesus lover all the way, celebrate today that you can call Him “YOURS.”
