Baldwin police have confirmed the identity of the burglary suspect arrested last week as Avery Tearle Henderson. Police took Henderson into custody on February 10 after asking for the public’s help to identify him.

Police charged Henderson with theft by taking. He was released from jail on a $1,200 bond.

The Baldwin Police Department posted on social media surveillance images of two men they called “persons of interest” in a burglary investigation. They updated their post Friday afternoon, saying, “The individuals have been identified and one has been arrested and charged for the incident.”

Chief Jones tells Now Habersham the images were pulled from a security video camera at the house that was burglarized. His department thanked the public for sharing information with them.

“We are more than grateful to have a community that is willing to work with us to protect life and property in Baldwin,” the updated post states.

To guard against burglars, Jones advises people to invest in security cameras and secure their homes properly.

“I also suggest that if citizens see something out of the ordinary, please report it,” he says.
