Badcock Home Furniture & more is closing its doors. The announcement became public at the end of last week as store employees were informed. The furniture retailer has more than 300 stores.

The decision to close comes seven months after Badcock was acquired by Conn’s HomePlus, which has filed for bankruptcy. More than 70 stores under the Conn’s brand will also be closing.

Athens, Baldwin, Cleveland, Toccoa, and many other cities around Georgia will feel the business loss. Online news service Furniture Today reported that the retailer’s path has been rocky from the highs of 2022, as economic uncertainty, rising costs, and consumer concerns led to slipping sales and losses.
