Athens-Clarke County Police are investigating the late-night shooting death of a 21-year-old Athens man.
At approximately 10:54 p.m. on November 1, the Athens-Clarke County Police Department responded to the 200 block of Martin Circle regarding a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a man with a gunshot wound.
The victim, Demetrius Pope, was transported to a local hospital where he died as a result of his injuries, says ACCPD Public Information Officer Shaun Barnett.
