Armed robbery and burglary suspect Monterro Javon Johnson.
A Mt. Airy man is in jail charged in the recent armed robbery of the Lucky Gulf Gas Station in Baldwin. The Habersham County Sheriff’s Office says 20-year old Monterro Javon Johnson was arrested Wednesday after an intensive investigation.
The Gulf gas station clerk was robbed at gunpoint in the early morning hours of October 8. The suspect got away with lottery tickets and an undisclosed amount of cash. That same day the Four Oaks Package Store in Mt. Airy was burglarized. Officials say Johnson is also a suspect in that crime.
A press release issued by the Habersham County Sheriff’s Department states:
During the course of the investigation conducted by Investigators Oxner and Welborn it was learned that Monterro Javon Johnson also burglarized the Four Oaks Package store.
Johnson is charged with armed robbery. More charges may be pending.
