Alfred Tyson Martin, age 73, of Lilburn, Georgia, formerly of Baldwin, Georgia, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 4, 2021.
Mr. Martin was born March 27, 1947, in Clarkesville, Georgia, to the late William and Texanna Martin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Leona Martin; brother, Richard Martin; sisters, Norine Greenley, Eulala Twombley, and Mary Ann Richardson; granddaughter, Victoria Martin. Mr. Martin was a member of the Baldwin Baptist Church. He retired with the rank of Master Sargent from the United States Air Force with twenty-five years of loyal and dedicated service to his country. After his discharge, he gave service to the state of Georgia with the Department of Transportation for another twenty years.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Deborah G. Martin, Lilburn, Georgia; two sons and daughters-in-law; Jason and Kara Martin, Lula, Georgia and Christopher and Jana Martin, Lilburn, Georgia; sister, Hazel Cook, Alto, Georgia; two brothers; Ronald Martin, Lula, Georgia, and Brantley Martin, Oakwood, Georgia; five grandchildren: Rylee Martin, Bennett Martin, Madeline Martin, Piper Martin, and Finley Martin.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 27, 2021, at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel. Inurnment will follow in the Baldwin City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m., Saturday, February 27, 2021, at the funeral home prior to the service.
