The Clarkesville School of Dance’s annual Company Concert, Kaleidoscope: Beauty in Motion, is more than just a performance—it’s a testament to the years of hard work, dedication, and deep connections formed between these dancers.

The show features a group of young women who have danced together for over six years, and it’s clear that their chemistry is not just evident but electric. This special connection is a driving force behind the performance, creating a unique and heartwarming experience for the audience.

Francie Keene, the owner, and her amazing team of teachers at the Clarkesville School of Dance are the masterminds behind the choreography, lighting, and music. Keene, whose Broadway experience and extensive background in the dance world are evident in her work, has poured her heart and soul into creating a production that entertains and uplifts the audience. Kaleidoscope is a dazzling display of artistry that showcases Keene’s ability to weave emotion, creativity, and technical precision into every moment.

“This company of dancers is special. Kaleidoscope marks nearly the last remaining time this particular group of dancers will get to share the stage,” Keene explained, her voice filled with emotion.

Her deep admiration for the dancers, who have grown together over the years, is palpable. It’s a bittersweet moment for both the dancers and the audience, as they know that this might be their final time performing together as a cohesive group.

Clarkesville School of Dance has three graduating seniors Ava Hamon, Marina Dumas and Kalleigh Hartzog. “These three dancers are incredible leaders and have the talent to move on in life with tremendous success. The sky is the limit,” said Keene.

Keene, known for her dedication to her students and building confidence on and off the stage, teaches dancers at all stages of life from young to old.

Emily McLeod, a dancer, instructor, and choreographer at the school, also speaks to the significance of this performance. “It is so special that Francie gave them this opportunity to perform together and showcase their talents. And it is for us as teachers very fulfilling,” McLeod shared. McLeod, who has watched these dancers grow and develop over the years, is proud of what they’ve accomplished and the bond they share.

The road for these dancers has been long and grueling, with rehearsals taking place four days a week, along with Sundays dedicated to perfecting every detail since September. Their dedication and commitment to excellence are clear as they take the stage, showcasing not only their talent but also their unwavering work ethic.

McLeod adds, “Their hard work and dedication shows,” and indeed, it does.
