Roads Less Traveled: The Magic Continues

The leaves have continued to change quickly here in Northwest North Carolina, with everything above 5,000ft being mostly bare trees now. This weekend’s cold snap will get things cranking in the lower elevations across all of GA, SC, NC and TN. Trees in and around Habersham are already starting to see some change, and this will be accelerated with lots of color around by mid-next week. If you are up for a hike this weekend, the best places to be are the Blue Ridge Parkway (pretty much anywhere on it at this point), or the high elevations of Northeast Georgia/East Tennessee. Brasstown Bald would be an excellent location to visit this weekend, with the mountains around it showing by far the most color. Car troubles kept me grounded to my home base (Grandfather Mountain) this week, but it certainly did not disappoint. Enjoy!
