An injured hiker was rescued from the Dukes Creeks Falls Trail on this week, according to White County officials.
Shortly after 2 p.m., on October 23, 2024, White County 911 received reports of a hiker who was injured on the Dukes Creeks Falls Trail. Multiple agencies, including White County Fire Services, EMS, Emergency Management, and Helen Fire Department, responded. Fire personnel from the Lee Arrendale Correctional Institute (LACI) Fire Service also provided mutual aid.
Due to the nature of the hiker’s injuries, fire and EMS personnel were required to extract them from the trail, says White County Public Information Officer Bryce Barrett.
The patient was then evaluated and treated by medical personnel. White County EMS transported the patient to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.
