A teen driver escaped serious injury when the SUV he was driving flipped onto its top Sunday in Clarkesville. The crash on Highway 115 left 17-year-old Aaron Smith with possible minor injuries, state troopers say.

Shortly after 6 p.m. on August 6, Smith was driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee eastbound when he ran off the road in a curve. The SUV traveled into a private parking lot at 208 Monroe Street. It struck several concrete curbs and a concrete wall before overturning.

Habersham County Sheriff’s Office personnel assisted Clarkesville Police Department at the scene.
