The Lady Indians fought valiantly on Tuesday night at Social Circle, dropping a 5-2 final to the defending state champions.

TFS stuck close to a 1-1 game until 15 minutes left in the opening half, whereafter the Lady Redskins scored 3 goals to take a commanding 4-1 lead into the break. Both teams scored once in the second half.

Addie Higbie finished a one-two play with Gemma Farris, and Stasa Beratovic scored off a corner kick from Higbie.

“Lots of great memories from a historic season,” says coach Travis Mullis. “Couldn’t be more proud of this group of girls. Tonight we played a better version of soccer than our opponent, with everyone touching the ball, but we came up short in some critical moments. In a game like this one, things happen in an instant, and it’s difficult to recover. Regardless, what an amazing spring of soccer at TFS! Quite fitting for this group of girls.”

The Lady Indians finish their record-setting season with a 12-4 record, complete with a Region Runner-Up finish and first Sweet 16 trip.
