A decomposed body found in a wooded area of Flowery Branch last month has been identified as Sarai Llanos Gomez, 19, of Ecuador. Hall County Sheriff’s Office investigators notified the victim’s family of her death on Monday, July 25.
Gomez’s body was found on Paradise Point Road on June 20. Shortly after, Hall County Sheriff’s Office investigators determined Gomez was a victim of murder; however, nothing at the scene immediately pointed to her identity, the Hall County Sheriff’s Office says.
The ongoing investigation, including the release of a composite GBI sketch of the victim, led to her positive identification this week, says sheriff’s office spokesperson B.J. Williams.
The GBI forensic sketch artist also created a drawing of a person of interest in the case. Investigators were able to obtain video of that person and a vehicle. The person of interest is a white male, possibly in his late 20s to late 30s, between 5’8” and 5’11” with a stocky build. The vehicle appears to be a dark grey late-model SUV.
The investigation into Gomez’s murder is active and ongoing.
