Wreck in Mt. Airy sends 4 to hospital

Habersham EMS transported four people to the hospital following a wreck in Mt. Airy. A 1-year-old child was among those injured, state troopers say.

The crash happened around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 27, at the intersection of Camp Creek Road and Cody Road.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, 19-year-old Jennifer Mendoza of Mt. Airy was driving a 2013 Nissan Sentra east on Cody Road when she failed to yield at the intersection. The Sentra struck a 2011 Ford Focus traveling north on Camp Creek Road.

Troopers say 24-year-old Hope Takacs of Toccoa was driving the Focus. The baby was riding in her vehicle along with another passenger, 25-year-old Mason Takacs, also of Toccoa.

EMS transported everyone involved in the wreck to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville to be treated for various injuries.

GSP says there are no charges at this time.
