A special meeting has been called by the City Council of Demorest tonight at 6:30pm. At last week’s regular meeting, a preliminary statement was made by the Mayor concerning the investigation into the missing funds discovered in 2013. The Council and Mayor asked for a final report from Mike Eason, the investigator hired by the City. The Mayor stated that the final report would be made public and turned over to the GBI and the Habersham District Attorney.
At tonight’s meeting, the final report is expected to be released to the public. The meeting will be held in the Council room under the fire department.
