Atlanta, GA – Halcyon Hospice has been named a 2015 Hospice Honors recipient for their Atlanta area locations and their Valdosta location. Halcyon’s service area includes much of north Georgia. The Hospice Honors is a landmark compilation of hospices providing the best patient and caregiver experience.
Established by Deyta, this prestigious annual review recognizes hospices that continuously provide the highest level of satisfaction as measured from the caregiver’s point of view.
“We’re proud to be one of only six providers in Georgia who received the Honors designation,” stated Dan Kohl, CEO of Halcyon Hospice. “We’re also the only hospice provider to win this award who covers Atlanta and simultaneously the only provider named in Valdosta, so this is a really special honor for us.” Out of approximately 1,700 partnering hospices contained in Deyta’s FEHC database, only 142 hospices received Honors recognition.

This notable recognition is determined by using the Deyta Family Evaluation of Hospice Care (Deyta FEHC) survey results from approximately 1,700 partnering hospices contained in Deyta’s FEHC database with an evaluation period of October 2013 through September 2014. Deyta identified Hospice Honors recipients by evaluating hospices’ performance on a set of eighteen satisfaction indicator measures. Only 8% of the partnering hospices achieved the Hospice Honors designation. Individual hospice performance scores were aggregated for the evaluation period and were compared on a question-by-question basis to a national average score calculated from Deyta’s FEHC database.
