Philip T. Raymond, Jr., age 95 of Macon formerly of Cornelia, passed away at Friendship Healthcare on January 3, 2021, from complications of Covid.
Born in Flint, Michigan on March 12, 1925, Mr. Raymond was the son of the late Phil and Valta M. Raymond, Sr. He was a graduate of Auburn University and was an electrical engineer, later district manager with the Georgia Power Company until his retirement. Mr. Raymond was a Master Mason and he was of the Episcopal faith. In addition to his parents, Mr. Raymond is preceded in death by his wife of 74 years Jean Raymond who passed away in November, son in law Val Foster, as well as five siblings.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law Philip T. Raymond, III and Susan, of Macon, Ga., daughter, Peggy R. Foster of Cleveland, Ga., daughter and son-in-law Susan R. Thompson and Alex of Savannah, Ga, eight grandchildren, Casey Barron, Corey Barron, Jill Parker, Jeff Thompson, Holly Kolkmeyer, Christie Pool, Ally Raymond, Vincent Raymond, Lynn Smith and Mark Thompson, as well as ten great-grandchildren.
Per his request, no public services will be held. The family wishes to thank Dr. James Hamilton and all the staff of Friendship Health Care for their love and care given to both parents over the last six months.
