Habersham County families that need help getting toys for their children this Christmas may apply for help through the Toys for Kids program. Cornelia Kiwanis Club sponsors the program. Organizers expect to serve 600 children ages birth through 5th grade this year.
The deadline to apply is Thursday, November 12.
Parents and guardians may pick up applications at all of Habersham County’s public elementary schools and at the following locations:
- Board of Education – 132 Stanford Mill Rd, Clarkesville
- Habersham Head Start – 291 Light Rd, Baldwin
- Sharing and Caring – 110 Camelot Way, Clarkesville (10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday)
- Sharing and Caring – 195 Stovall Street, Cornelia (10 a.m.- 1 p.m. Wednesdays)
- United Way office – 236 Level Grove Road, Cornelia (9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday. Call 706-778-0620 to confirm someone is there before going)
Parents and guardians with children in Habersham County Schools or Head Start should turn in their applications at their child’s school.
Those whose children live in Habersham but are not yet school age or are in other schools, should turn in their applications to Sharing and Caring or United Way.
Toys for Kids will notify applicants about the status of their application by letter after December 4.

If you would like to donate money to help make the holidays bright for local kids this year, please send a check to Cornelia Kiwanis Club, PO Box 1507, Cornelia, GA 30531.
You may also donate new toys and books or new or gently used coats, hats, and scarves to The Cornelia Depot, the Habersham Board of Education, as well as schools in the Habersham County School System.
