What began as a fun Saturday outing for a White County fishing club turned tragic Saturday when a boating accident killed a Dawsonville man.
59-year-old Danny Duff died when his boat collided with another as it left the ramp at the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds on Lake Chatuge.
Another person in Duff’s boat was injured and was transported to a nearby trauma center, according to the Towns County Herald.
The driver of the other boat was not injured in the accident.
An officer with the Department of Natural Resources Law Enforcement Division is investigating the accident.
