Teen father killed in wreck to be buried Wednesday

Funeral services are scheduled tomorrow for an Alto teenager who died in a single car crash Sunday night on Demorest-Mt. Airy Highway in Demorest.

Tackett loved skateboarding, dirt bikes and cars.
Tackett was a skateboarding enthusiast. He also enjoyed dirt bikes, cars, drawing and music.

Services for 19-year old Jimmy Sebastian Tackett will be held Wednesday, Feb. 4, at 2 pm at the chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home in Cornelia. Burial will follow at Yonah Memorial Gardens in Demorest.

Family will receive friends today, Tuesday, Feb. 3, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the funeral home located on VFW Road.

The accident happened just before midnight Feb. 1. State troopers say Tackett was riding in the back seat of a Honda Accord driven by 22-year old Colby Oliver when the car left the roadway, ran into a yard then hit a tree and parked car. Tackett died at the scene. Oliver and another passenger were taken to Habersham Medical Center for treatment.

Oliver faces numerous charges including DUI and first-degree vehicular homicide.

Tackett was the son of Jimmy and Heather Wade Tackett of Alto. He leaves behind a young daughter.
