Tallulah Falls a Perfect 13-0 after New Year’s Eve Win at White Co

The Warriors proved to be the toughest opponent for Tallulah Falls in 2016, but the Indians survived a scare Saturday afternoon on New Year’s Eve, running away late to a 74-61 win.

The Indians used 11 3-pointers in the win, led by senior Trey Wilcox, who had a game-high 26 points. Josey Keene added 12, while Michael Van Hooser also had 11 in what proved to be the toughest win to get for TFS.

The Indians were 12-0 heading into the matchup, and were down by one at the end of the first. The Indians edged White County 18-15 in the second quarter to go into the locker room up two points. The Indians held the Warriors to just 11 third-quarter points to enter the final eight minutes with an 8-point lead. Wilcox nailed a couple of late triples to secure the win.

Michael Weidner also contributed with nine points, while Sanson Navarrete has six and Zatrick Pearce had five. Jake Carver and Matthew Weidner also added three and two points, respectively. White County senior John Ward led the Warriors with 20 points, including 17 in the first half. Austin Harris had 12 for the Warriors, while both Dillon Wilson and Clay Dockery added nine each.

Tallulah Falls moves to 13-0 on the season, and is currently ranked #5 in the state in class 1A.
