Truett Men’s Basketball Looking to End November On High Note

3-5 isn’t a bad spot to be in this early, but the Truett McConnell University Bears also realize they’ve dropped three straight as November is coming to a close.

After a thrilling 61-60 win at Welch College in the season opener, the men dropped a pair, including one to Toccoa Falls. The Bears rebounded with wins over Carver Bible on November 5, and followed that with a home-opener victory over Columbia International.

Things took a sharp turn after that win, as Truett fell again to Toccoa Falls, Tennessee Wesleyan and Milligan. The Bears also took an exhibition loss to The Citadel in a game that doesn’t go against their record.

The 0-2 start in Applachian Athletic Conference play is troublesome with falling to Tennessee Wesleyan and Milligan in back-to-back contests. However, the Bears have a chance to right the ship early with a November 30 date against Union College at home.

David Campell leads the team in scoring (12.4 pts/game), while Jacob Booke (10.9 pts) and Mario Westbrook (10.8 pts) also prove to be a force on the offensive side of the ball. Campbell and Booke have combined for 30 3-pointers made this season.
