Each year, Georgia Trend Magazine releases a list of the “100 Most Influential Georgians.” The 23rd annual list was just released and four northeast Georgians are on it, including Habersham County’s own Lauren “Bubba” MacDonald Jr.
MacDonald was recently re-elected to the Public Service Commission where he has served since being appointed by then Gov. Zell Miller. MacDonald has been a stauch advocate for increasing solar power across the state. In a recent report from the Pew Charitable Trust the PSC’s work in solar initiatives has positioned Georgia as a national leader in clean energy.
Other north Georgian’s making the list are Gov. Nathan Deal, Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle, United Community Bank CEO Jimmy Tallent and Northeast Georgia Health System CEO Carol Burrell.
