South Habersham Middle School drama and chorus students presented Disney’s Mulan, Jr. (Music and lyrics by Matthew Wilder, David Zippel, Stephen Schwartz, Jeanine Tesori, and Alexa Junge; Music adapted and arranged and additional lyrics by Bryan Louisell; Book adapted and additional lyrics by Patricia Cotter; based on the 199 Disney film Mulan by Robert D. San Souci) on May 7-8, 2015. Mrs. Memrie Cox, SHMS teacher, directed the musical with Catherine Warren, student teacher from Truett McConnell College, co-directing.
Over 118 students from all three grade levels were involved in the performance. Jazmin Jimenez played the part of Mulan; Tanner Frost portrayed Captain Shang; and Nevaja Brown was Mushu. The students performed for their peers as well as community members. All students involved in the show did a fantastic job.

Community members involved in the production were Rick Cox, David and Phyllis Terrell, Monica and Greg Miller, and Benjamin Jenkins. Groups who provided meals for the students after school on Thursday and Friday were The Torch Worship Center, Donna Boelter, Pam Gunn, Angie Anderson, and Fran Chastain.
