At least 16 killed on Georgia’s roads over long Labor Day weekend

Holiday weekend traffic accidents killed at least sixteen people in Georgia. The death toll rose Monday with fatal crashes reported in Banks County, Athens-Clarke County, Blue Ridge, and Henry County.

A single-car crash in Banks County killed a Lula woman and a motorcycle crash in White County killed a man from Sautee Nacoochee.

The 78-hour Labor Day holiday weekend began at 6 p.m. Friday, September 3. It ended at 11:59 p.m. on September 6.

Last year, statewide there were 19 fatal crashes resulting in 21 fatalities reported to GSP during the holiday period.
